Affiliate Marketing Disclosure

I am proud to be one of the few impartial reviewers of juvenile products on the internet. This position allows me to recommend whatever I please without being beholden to any companies, reps, or brands. If a product I recommend happens to have an “affiliate” program in place, I will embed an affiliate link, which pays me a small commission if someone clicks through and purchases the item. This is how I make a living without cluttering my site with ads and WITHOUT sending out “sponsored posts,” which are advertisements masquerading as true editorial emails.

Specifically, I am a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to amazon.com. This helps me cover my costs, buy groceries, and pay for exorbitant rent and childcare, so please buy your stuff from my site!

There are other affiliate links on my site from stores such as Gymboree, Tiny Prints, Giggle, etc. Same deal; if you click through, I may get a commission for your purchase (thanks again!).

Product Reviews

The product reviews contained on this site and in the newsletters are based on our own experiences with that product and/or on conversations with other moms who have actively used these products. This information is then checked thoroughly against unbiased, 3rd party reviews of other users from sites such as Amazon, Consumer Reports, Baby Bargains and Buzzillions.

I never have and never will accept compensation from product manufacturers in exchange for favorable reviews (I would never play you like that, dogg).

Occasionally, we get a freebie sample; when we do, we disclose it.

Beware of other sites that write “reviews” masquerading as editorial when in fact, they are being paid large sums of money to say only positive things about the product. Most product reviews out there on the internet (with rare exception, such as Consumer Reports, EWG, Baby Gear Labs and Baby Bargains) are sponsored by the brands themselves.

This is happening more and more as the old media revenue model fails to generate the advertising revenue needed to operate the business.  Also, be aware that many celebrities are paid for product placement and aren’t always upfront about disclosing it. We’re glad to see the FCC cracking down on this practice.

Cheers!
