Love List Summer 2023

Summer is finally upon us and we’re stoked! To celebrate the season of sunshine, our team put together this fun Love List filled with our current favorite shows, books, self-care items, accessories, summertime must-haves and more. We hope you enjoy and find something you love ❤️. Happy Summer!

TV Shows

Succession ~ Max

If you’re not watching this series, now in its fourth season, you should be. Reportedly based on the real-life media-mogul Murdoch family, this series is equal parts drama and dark comedy. Though I can’t say I find any of the characters particularly likable, the ever-changing dynamics, alliances and hierarchy among them is fascinating and intriguing.

BEEF ~ Netflix

What happens when road rage turns into a complete manic-obsessive spiral? Watch BEEF to find out. As it explores anger, depression and humanity in all its flaws and glories, this limited series is nerve-jangling, amusing and heart-warming all at once. Steven Yeun and Ali Wong are absolutely phenomenal — as is the soundtrack.

Books

The Unlikely Village of Eden ~ $17

This touching and raw memoir by Emma Nadler details her journey in caring for her child, Eden, born with an incredibly rare genetic condition. This book is perfect for all parents and caregivers; it’s a beautiful reminder that life doesn’t always (or perhaps ever?) go to plan, and that it’s okay (necessary, even) to lean on your village, and ask for and accept help.

Demon Copperhead ~ $18

Kingsolver’s powerful storytelling delves into the neglected corners of present-day Appalachian Mountains, where Damon Fields, nicknamed Demon Copperhead, navigates a challenging life from foster care placements that resemble work camps. The novel portrays Demon’s unwavering resilience as he faces hunger, cruelty, loss, and the devastating impact of the OxyContin epidemic, all while maintaining his profound love for his homeland.

Self-Care

Iris&Romeo Best Skin Days SPF

An SPF that also gives you a youthful glow? Yes, please. Best Skin Days has become a staple in my morning skincare routine. I love the slightly whipped feel of the lotion, and my skin is left looking dewy and healthy.

Ceremonia Gave Beach Waves

Beach waves on fleek. This salt texture spray by Ceremonia is giving summer.

LumaGlow LED Light Therapy Wand ~ $124

The LumaGlow LED Light Therapy Wand is a game-changer for skincare enthusiasts. Its compact design and versatile functionality make it easy to incorporate into your beauty routine. The wand’s red and blue light therapy targets acne, fine lines, and wrinkles, leaving the skin looking radiant and rejuvenated.

Kids

Kizik sneakers ~ $69

Got an independent tot on your hands? Kizik shoes have a hands-free design that makes it easy for children to put them on and take them off without any grownup help — the transition out the door has never been easier. My kids have been wearing them every day for a year, and they’re still as good as new!

Rockin’ BLINKS PJs

Made from Pima Cotton, Rocking’ BLINKS sleepwear is so buttery soft, you’ll wish the PJs came in adult sizes. Each set, which are all gender neutral, come with a card with specific sleeping information to help you understand sleep (and its challenges) at your child’s age. The company was founded by Lola Sanchez Liste, sleep consultant, mom of two and Charlene’s neighbor. 😉

Clothes & Accessories

Garnet Hill Asian Wrap Organic Shortie PJs ~ $69

Soft as butter and 100% organic cotton, these Asian-wrap PJs are my go-to for staying cool at night this summer. These PJs are super high-quality and last forever.

Lucy & Yak Jumpsuits ~ $varies

There’s never a better time than summer to add a little pop of color to your wardrobe. Lucy & Yak jumpsuits are a delightful blend of style, playfulness, comfort, and sustainability. Plus, we love their inclusive sizing, which ensures a perfect fit for everyone. The kind of item you’ll keep reaching for again and again.

Koolaburra (by Ugg) sandals ~ $65

Want to feel like you’re walking on clouds? Then slip these on your feet. No, I’ve never walked on clouds, but if I did — I assure you this is what it would feel like. Soooo comfortable and super cute to boot, these Koolaburra sandals will be your new summertime favs. Trust me.

Scala Visor ~ $32

Protect your face from the sun while keeping your mom bun. This visor from Scala has an adjustable velcro enclosure and wide coverage… and dare we say, is stylish?

Sezane Baskets ~ $varies

Baskets and woven bags are all the rage this year, and we are loving it. So get your picnic chic on for all your outings – kids or no kids. We love the selection at French brand Sezane.

Pepper Strapless Bra ~ $60

Small-chested women know the struggle of finding a strapless bra that fits. Enters Pepper, a bra company that caters specifically to small breasts. This bra is supportive, comfortable and lifting. If you need a little more support, try this Meg-approved wireless bra.

Beach & Summer Essentials

CoolCabanas Beach Tent ~ $190

We’ve had our CoolCabanas tent for two years now. It’s held up really nicely and makes us feel like we’re part of an exclusive beach club. Plus, when the wind picks up, we’re the only ones whose tent doesn’t go flying all over the place.

JBL Clip 3 Speaker ~ $50

Bring the party to your day trips at the beach. This portable speaker is waterproof and you can clip it on your beach bag or backpack to keep it secure.

Supergoop Lip Screen ~ $22

Don’t forget to protect your lips this summer against harmful sun rays. We like how light the Supergroup lip screen feels when applying.

Yeti Can Insulator ~ $25

You know that feeling when you take a sip of your seltzer only to realize it’s warm and completely flat? Get yourself a Yeti insulator so you never encounter that problem ever again. You’re welcome.

Outdoor Illuminated Sphere ~ starts at $32

These LED globes are so unique and a great way to brighten up any space. Put them on your patio, in your garden, by the pool… and wait for the compliments to roll in!

That’s it! Let us know if there’s anything else YOU can’t live without during the summer months.

Cheers!
