Maternity Workout Clothes

Yes, winter is coming; and yes, the pandemic is still around, but that’s no excuse not to get out there. What better way to dress for the cold weather than in comfortable and practical clothes? Especially you, mama-to-be. Lucky for you, the athleisure trend is still going strong.

Here are the trends we’re following for Fall/Winter 2021.

Maternity Athleisure Equation

Maternity Workout Clothes

I’ll break it down for you, here’s a simple equation you can follow when dressing up your bump in chic athletic wear:

leggings +
tee shirt +
jacket/hoodie +
comfy sneaks +
sunglasses =
a pulled together (and comfy) mama

Maternity Yoga Pants and Leggings

Maternity Sonoma Goods For Life® Full Belly Panel Leggings ~ $10

$10 for a pair of leggings? You can’t beat that. Reviewers note that these are on the thicker, heavier duty side. They love how soft and snug they are.

Old Navy Maternity Full-Panel Power-soft Side-Pocket 7/8-Length Leggings ~ $24

Budget option, with lots of fun prints (including tie-dye). These leggings are great for active moms who don’t want to break the bank (and who may want to add an extra pair or two to their leggings rotation).

Storq signature leggings ~ $65

“Buttery soft, comfortable and flattering.” These five words sum up the Storq signature leggings (or all Storq things for that matter). These leggings, which come in a few prints including leopard, will take you from the beginning to end of pregnancy, through postpartum and onward.

Gap Maternity Recycled Under Belly Power Full Length Leggings ~ $69

We love the leopard print on these, and bonus points for the fact that they’re made from 79% of recycled material.

Zella Getaway Crop Maternity Pants ~ $69

Ok, “crop” doesn’t really scream “cold weather,” but yeah, not everyone lives in a winter wonderland. The elastic band and the straight, flowy fit make these perfect for your entire pregnancy (and beyond).

Love & Fit Guardian Leggings ~ $74

A high-waisted pair of leggings that stay on your hip no matter what activity you’re doing while pregnant (and even postpartum!). I (Melissa) love how buttery soft these are, though some argue they aren’t breathable enough (though they are moisture wicking). Excellent quality and perfect for all stages of motherhood.

Girlfriend collective maternity leggings ~ $88

Girlfriend’s maternity leggings are back, and we’re very happy for you. They’re super stretchy and ultra-lightweight. Plus, they’re made from recycled fish nets (yay saving ocean life while staying comfy while working out or lounging with your bump)! Note: these come in plus sizes.

Tops & Jackets

Maternity Breathe ON Racerback Tank Top ~ $22

Everybody, even an expecting mama, needs a racerback top. The ruched sides create a flattering fit throughout your pregnancy. It’s a nice layering must-have for any active (or lounging) mamas-to-be.

Maternity Sonoma Goods For Life® Shirred Zip-Up Jacket ~ $35

We love that this zipper jacket has a longer fit, and the ruched sides make it flattering no matter how far along you are in your pregnancy. Some people do say the fit is a bit odd.

H&M MAMA padded outdoor jacket ~ $50

We love the padded front and raglan-cut sleeves. It gives this sporty jacket an edge. Note that it runs on the bigger side.

Nom Maternity SIMONE MATERNITY/NURSING HOODIE ~ $88

A hoodie that works during pregnancy and for breastfeeding? Yes!! We love a good multitasking piece of clothing, especially when we’re investing in maternity wear. This top is extremely soft and comfortable, and we love the side zippers for discreet nursing.

Ingrid + Isabel Active Maternity Jacket ~ $88

This athletic jacket has side zippers to make room for your growing belly. Stretchy enough for big-chested women as well.

Shoes & Accessories

Nike Air Max ~ $84

Air Max are back in, and they’re comfy and supportive. Which is all you need to know. Consider sizing up half a size (especially during pregnancy since feet can expand).

New Balance sneakers ~ $90

Another supportive and trendy shoe. Just make sure to tie them with a little room so your feet can just slide right in.

There you have it, ladies. Enjoy the season!
